What Types Of Window Treatments Can Be Motorized?

It is a common misconception that only roller shades can be motorized. In fact, most all styles of window treatments can be motorized and/or integrated with your smart home system.

Shades

There are various styles, including cellular shades, Roman shades, woven wood shades, sheer shades, and roller shades. Each of these styles can be motorized.

Blinds

Blinds are available in several materials: wood, faux wood, and metal. Regardless of the material, all Hunter Douglas blinds can be motorized.

Vertical Shades & Blinds

Vertical applications are great for large windows and doors. Often, these shades are quite large, and motorization makes it easy to operate them. Hunter Douglas has several vertical options that are compatible with PowerView® automation, including Skyline® Panel-Track Blinds and Luminette® Sheers Panels

Shutters

Yes, even interior shutters can be motorized. While real wood shutters require manual operation, Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Vinyl Shutters can be motorized (tilt only).

Draperies

Draperies can be installed on motorized rods for easy opening/closing with the touch of a button. They can be installed over motorized shades or blinds for the ultimate light control and convenience.
